– 創業115年の大分の小さな印刷会社が描く印刷の未来 –

私たちは1910年の創業から115年の間、変わりゆく時代のなか大分という地で地元のお客さまを中心に様々な印刷物を作り続けてきました。
一方で日本における印刷産業の市場規模はここ30年で半減したと言われており、「これから私たちのような小さな印刷会社がどんな価値を社会へ提供できるのか」をずっと問い続けています。
今回私たちはグーテンベルグが活版印刷技術を発明したドイツの地にその答えを探しにいきます。
本展示では私たちが印刷物をつくり続けることの意義に改めて向き合い、「これからも印刷物が人々の生活に寄り添い続けてほしい」という願いを込めて小さな印刷会社の未来を描いてみたいと思います。

TAKAYAMA PRINTING HOUSE
– The history and future of printing
as told by a small Japanese printing company –

For 115 years, since our foundation in Ōita, Japan, we have been creating a wide range of printed works, serving our local community, through times of constant change. 
However, since the printing industry in Japan has seen its market cut by half over the past three decades, we have been asking ourselves: what can a small printing company like ours offer society today?
We are going to Germany — the birthplace of Gutenberg’s invention of printing with movable type — in search of an answer. 
With this exhibition, we demonstrate why we continue to print. We wish to show how printed works can remain close to people’s lives, now and in the future. 
Through the perspective of a small printing house, we would like to share our vision of what lies ahead. We  invite you to explore with us the future of printing.
